Dalston Argos police raid - 86 suspected stolen bikes found 7th August Joseph Reaidi Profile Image By Joseph Reaidi Senior Breaking News Reporter Share Around suspected 86 stolen bikes were found at an former Argos store in Dalston. Police attended the shop on Sandringham Road on July 24, months after it closed its branch near the beginning of the year. Bikes were being tracked to the address, which was not in use. Officers found 86 bikes inside the venue, all of which they are suspected to have been stolen as well as one confirmed stolen motorbike. Police Constable Billy Thurston said: ”We have returned the motorbike to the owner and 10 bikes which have been confirmed as stolen and have been returned to there owners or are in the process of returning them.” The former Argos has since been secured and is reportedly now back in control of the landlord. Anyone who has had a bike stolen recently and not reported it is asked to contact police with the serial number, so that officers can cross reference if it is among the bikes recovered. This is not the first time police were called to this Argos since it closed its doors. An illegal rave at the abandoned Argos caused havoc in the area as music could be heard from two streets away over the course of May 9 and early morning on May 10.
