Excessive noise from car horns

Earlier this year the junction between mare street and Graham Road was changed and we experienced extremely extremely loud and since then we experience very frequent and very loud car horns at all times of the day. Please fix this issue

    Thank you for your report and for explaining the issue in more detail.

    We appreciate that the frequent use of vehicle horns can be frustrating for residents, particularly where it is occurring throughout the day rather than as an isolated incident.

    As part of the recent improvements at the junction, the Council has introduced a number of changes aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing driver frustration. These include the installation of an Advanced Stop Line (ASL) for cyclists and additional secondary traffic signals to improve the visibility of the traffic lights for drivers approaching the junction. These measures are intended to help drivers move through the junction more smoothly and reduce unnecessary delays.

    Vehicle horns should only be used where necessary to warn other road users of danger, and the Council is not able to directly enforce their inappropriate use. However, we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and will also make Transport for London aware of your comments regarding the reported use of horns by buses in the area.
