Standing water
Reported in the Roads/highways category by Jack Reay at 18:05, Sun 29 January 2017
Sent to Hackney Council 6 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 968001.
This section of Church Crescent is badly rutted, which causes large amounts of standing water when it rains. The road and pavement are both narrow, putting vehicles and pedestrians in close proximity. Using the pavement in rainy weather involves the chance of being soaked by passing vehicles, making it a "No go" area when it rains

As we approach winter this becomes more of a problem. I myself was soaked last week as a bus passed by and hit one of these puddles. The pavement is narrow and there is nowhere to go to avoid the splashes.

The road surface is still deteriorating, and when we have had rain, passing vehicles spray water all over the pavement. For pedestrians there is no way of avoiding getting a soaking. I would like a member of Hackney council to try standing there just to see how bad it is when it's raining!

As the road has been closed to traffic recently, it would seem to be the perfect time to resurface this section of road.

Frustratingly the road was closed to traffic for the best part of a month recently. This would have been the ideal time to fix it. Sadly, nothing was done.

Getting worse all the time. The road is due to be closed soon because of gas repairs. This would seem to be the ideal time to sort out this problem.

Roads in the local area are due to be closed soon for gas repairs. This would be a good time to repair this road surface. Can this message be sent to the council please?
