MOT expired, not allowed on public road
Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9404091.
Further to my complaint. Thanks for confirming they have a parking permit and are taxed, however this vehicle is NOT MOT’d, as of the 23rd April it expired. Therefore it is illegal for it to be parked on the road. It needs to be in a garage or driveway.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the vehicle without a valid MOT.
While a vehicle without an MOT should not be on the street, this does not give us the legal grounds to immediately remove it, especially if it holds a valid parking permit. Based on the information available, the police have the authority to take action against such vehicles in the interim.
I have forwarded this case to the permit team, as the lack of an MOT violates our policy regarding permit issuance. Typically, the owner is granted seven days to resolve the issue, though in some cases this process can take longer. Only if there is no response from the owner can the permit be cancelled; once cancelled, we are then able to issue a PCN or remove the vehicle.
