Pavement has subsided and rain water floods the full width outside 22 Carysfort Road N16 9AL
Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 17:50, Tue 26 July 2016
Sent to Hackney Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 867141.
Over a number of years the pavement outside 22 Carysfort Road N16 9AL has steadily subsided so that it no longer drains towards the street, but into the front path and garden of no.22. Even after moderate rain the public footway and private path become flooded and remain very slippery with muddy residue when the water finally seeps away into the pavement. Not only is the situation inconvenient, it is potentially a safety issue, and it continues to get worse. Thames Water have examined the drains under the pavement and say there is no visible problem (i.e. the roofs of culverts below grade have not collapsed, and the drains are still running free). Can Hackney please have a look? Thanks.

The problem is now in the process of being seen to.
Following a visit by the council's street inspector, it has been agreed that LB Hackney will re-lay the paving in the public footpath after we have raised the private path to the front door of our house - both are affected by the same ground subsidence.
I understand the public foot way will be repaired within a month from when we notify the council that work to our footpath has been completed. This is to ensure the council does not create a trip hazard between our front garden and the public footpath.
Thanks,
Chris
