Residents do not have anywhere to park on Hertford road this has become an ongoing issue despite this issue on top of everything the council has decided to add EV parking restrictions on residents that want to park in bays which limits us residents.

Dear resident,
Please note that Hertford Road was selected due to it’s low parking stress (the number of permits compared to the number of spaces). Hertford Road has a parking stress of 37%. This is well within the threshold criteria for introducing EV charge points to the road.
The Council acknowledges concerns raised about parking availability and access to properties. The Council accepts that local parking pressures can at times be frustrating for residents. However, permit holders are not guaranteed a parking space nearest their property, as stated in the permit terms and conditions.
It is acknowledged that the cumulative impact of the proposed EV bay will have an increased impact on the parking permit stress in the area. However, the approach is consistent with the hierarchy of parking needs which places parking for low emissions vehicles, above standard permit parking, as set out in the Parking Enforcement Plan (PEP).
The bays were also installed due to a large number of requests in the area. Adequate provision of charge points in the proximity of requests is vital in ensuring the adoption of electric vehicles which will result in improved air quality for all residents.
