Abandoned(?) street furniture item containing wiring

Reported anonymously at 11:36, Mon 30 May 2016

Sent to Hackney Council 4 minutes later

I don't quite know what to call it, but there is an installation of what is called street furniture (a large metal frame) containing a wiring switchboard, on the north side of Dalston Lane just past the bus stop, with unlocked, swinging open doors, which seems to have been abandoned and I think should be removed by the council, if so. There is another at the top of Navarino Road which I will report separately. Thank you to anyone who can do something about this nuisance, if only by securing the doors closed.

  • See my reply to the twin complaint, about another near by. I was directed by the council to the agencies responsible, but in the past I've had poor experience trying to follow through. I think the council should report and secure these boxes with open doors. To me, it's crazy that they've been neglected. If they're not operative, then remove them as unnecessary obstructions on the pavement.
