So it appears that an attempt has been made to paint over the red flags. But the paint has then been driven all over the road and walked on to the pavement. Clearly it was not painted correctly. It needs to be done at night when the road is quiet and with the correct paint.

This has still not been fixed. It is unacceptable that the crossing has been left like this. This has been ongoing since September 13th.

Thank you for contacting us regarding the graffiti at Lauriston Roundabout. We understand your concerns and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We agree that the repainting of the flags could be considered offensive, particularly given the current national context and the upcoming event in Whitechapel. Such acts can be seen as divisive and contrary to the inclusive community we strive for in Hackney.
While we share your concern, immediate removal presents challenges. Standard removal methods are often ineffective and can pose safety issues. More disruptive and costly methods, such as road closures and specialist paint, could lead to a cycle of repeated vandalism, becoming a significant drain on resources. The graffiti, in its current form, does not pose a highway safety risk and is likely to wear off naturally over time. That said, we do want to address this issue, and as such we have installed CCTV in the area. Unfortunately, our resources do not permit us to review extensive hours of footage. Providing a specific date and time when these incidents occurred would greatly assist us in investigating the matter more efficiently, and can be sent to us at enforcementsupport@hackney.gov.uk.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to resolve this issue.
