Please see below the response from our Enforcement Department -Thank you for contacting the Council and raising your concerns about speeding motorcyclists and e-bike users along the Red Path.
We want to assure you that your concerns have previously been brought to our attention. We are currently working closely with the local community to develop measures that will improve safety conditions by encouraging slower speeds for all cyclists, including e-bike users and motorcyclists.
As part of this effort, we have met with representatives from the local school to better understand the issues. Some suggestions that have come up include introducing rumble strips to reduce cycling speeds, improving lighting, and organising drop-in sessions to raise awareness about safe cycling speeds.
We are currently in the initial stages of this process and hope to design and implement these measures as soon as funding becomes available.
