Motor vehicles blocking the footpath/pavement

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 22:49, Wed 10 February 2016

Sent to Hackney Council 1 minute later

All along this road, on both sides, there are cars causing an obstruction to pedestrians, particularly those with prams or pushchairs or buggies. While there are white lines allowing motor vehicles to park partially on the footpath (why?!) most of them are parked way past the white line, forcing those on foot to walk in the road, causing a danger to themselves.

Updates

  • The council is quick to fix potholes but when it comes to allowing people to walk on the pavement instead of cars parking there it seems to be a different matter entirely. Local residents still are being forced to walk in the road, putting themselves in danger, due to selfish motorists blocking the footpath.
