Cycle hangar doesn't lock properly
Reported via desktop in the Cycle Hangars category anonymously at 15:10, Friday 18 April 2025
Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7452951.
Workmen conducting roadworks on Whiston Rd dragged the cycle hangar down the road using diggers. The hangar is now bent out of shape, so even when locked it can still be opened. It's not screwed down to the street anymore either.

Many thanks for reporting the issue. We have contacted all users directly and are investigating further. The hangar is currently not suitable to be used and all users should remove their bikes as soon as possible. We are investigating the contractor responsible but can confirm this work was not authorised. Updates to follow

Engineers have attended the hangar, put it back where it belongs and made temporary repairs to have the hangar operational awaiting replacement.
