Pedestrian crossing
Reported in the Roads/highways category by Jack Reay at 20:18, Sun 29 November 2015
Sent to Hackney Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 722415.
A large deep pool of water forms on the pedestrian crossing next to the pavement at this junction. This makes the crossing inaccessible and passing traffic can soak unwary people on the pavement.

Nothing has been done. Still as bad as ever. When it rains the crossing becomes unusable for disabled or elderly people because of the huge puddle which gathers there. It would be relatively easy to fix, too.

Still as bad as ever. A great shame, as it would be easy to fix. Meanwhile ,pedestrians are still being soaked as vehicles go round the corner, and the pedestrian crossing is almost impossible to use. Someone from the Council need to have a look after we've had some rain! I wonder if anyone has ACTUALLY done a site visit?

The crossing is still impossible to use when it rains. Traffic going round the corner still splashes and soaks pedestrians who may be in the vicinity of the pool of water.

Obviously Hackney council shows little interest in the wellbeing of its citizens.

There are now two large potholes next to the crossing-possibly resulting from the standing water.

Potholes getting worse

The potholes have been (badly) repaired, but the pedestrian crossing remains unusable in wet condititions. Surely the crossing could have been attended to at the same time as the potholes were being fixed? After all, they are only about 3 feet apart!

As the road has been closed to vehicles, it would seem to be the perfect time to sort this problem.

Frustratingly the road was closed to traffic for the best part of a month recently. This would have been the ideal time to fix it. Sadly, nothing was done.

Still impossible to use the crossing after rain. I find it incredible that a pothole 1 metre away was repaired but nothing done to alleviate this problem.

Road due to be closed soon for gas repairs. This would be a good time to fix it. Can this message be sent to the council please?
