Inadequate number of bins & not cleared often enough
Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 09:38, Tue 8 September 2015
Sent to Hackney Council 2 minutes later
In spite of numerous requests in recent years that the number of bins immediately outside the south side entrance to the garden in the middle of the square be increased, there is still only one bin & this is inadequate - particularly at weekends when rubbish overflows & litters the pavement. We already have the usual urban issue with foxes & this just increases their scavenging. I would also like to see the council have recycling bins specifically for plastic bottles & cans.

It took a couple of emails (copying in my neighbours) before I could persuade the Council officers that, in trying to deal with one problem, they had created another. But they were persuaded & they have not only increased the number of bins but added an extra weekend collection. Good for them!
