Suggestion to add a 'keep clear' or yellow box marking to this junction. The turn into Powell Rd is often blocked by traffic waiting at the lights to turn onto L Clapton Rd. Waiting to turn right into Powell Rd blocks cars driving down Cricketfield Rd

Thank you for contacting Hackney Council and for bringing your suggestions to add a “keep clear” or a yellow box marking at Cricketfield Road/Powell Road junction to our attention.
As you are aware there is an existing zebra crossing in the vicinity of the junction of Cricketfield Road and Powell Road, as a result, there are associated zig-zag markings that span the junction.
The traffic regulations prohibit additional road markings from being placed within the curtilage of the zig-zag markings. This regulation is in place as it keeps the approach to the zebra crossing clear of road marking which could be potentially confusing to drivers.
As a result, we are unable to introduce your suggestion on this occasion.
