Footway blocked by Tesco pallets

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 00:34, Sat 27 June 2009

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

If you need to walk along Bateman's Row and NOT step into the busy cycle lane (particularly important if you are visually impaired, mobility impaired or a wheelchair user) it is impossible because TESCO repeatedly uses the footway as a storage yard for pallets. Has TESCO been given permission to do this, I wonder? Also, footway on opposite side of Bateman's Row is in poor state of repair.

Updates

  • Sorry to say ... Tesco has still not cleaned up its act. Passed by yesterday evening and there were a load of bread baskets stored on the footway! (Anyone passing by, please feel free to throw them back into the shop!)
