Squatters still there; leaving rubbish on the street outside of the building

Stop to be so negative on a subject u cannot control. I'm a resident in the downham rd area and the reports of rubbish in the street is undoubtedly inaccurate and false. The occupants are outgoing and free living respectful beings.

Are you joking^?
These squatters need to be removed immediately. They have no respect for the others living around them. They play music at unbelievable volumes at any given time of day (techno at 6 am on a Monday) and clearly use drugs on a regular basis. I'm sick and tired of people thinking that squatters should be able to do what they want. These guys are an absolute drain on our councils resources. Get them out ASAP. I hope their belongings get burned with the building.

Also - I think it's time that the local residents ride up about this. The council does nothing. If enough residents come together we can get them out.

Nothing has been done about squatters and no update from Council about this - 4 months after this was posted. These building could be used for other purposes, e.g. for artists like the Rose Lipman Community Centre. Could the Council please respond to the rubbish, noise, illegal dwelling, illegal parking that is taking place?

Hi Peter,
I have been speaking with Andy McDonna and Steve Fox who work for the Neighbourhood office (Right next to Price Fighter) who have informed me that they now have possession of the premisses. However its taking a while for the bailiffs to sort themselves out. Once they have they will be going round and removing these guys accordingly. I think its disgusting that this has been allowed to carry on for as long as it has been. I still can't believe how loud these guys play music. Definitely on drugs, definitely do not care about the residents in the area. The ammount of times i've tried to contact different people about this and hardly anyone is ever keen to help. Its ridiculous how people can live somewhere for free, disturb the peace of everyone in the area and get away with it for so long.. Maybe i'll stop paying council tax and start blaring out techno music at 5 am on a Monday morning and see what happens?
I cannot wait for when these guys get booted out. I may pop some champagne.
Anyone else who is suffering from this PLEASE call 02083563330 and ask for Andy Mcdonna or steve fox. The more we pester them then hopefully they can bug the balifs to come and kick out the drugged up squatters. Enough is enough and they HAVE to leave.

Hi Peter
Thanks for this information. We too have called the police a number of times in recent weeks as well as calling and emailing the council, all to absolutely no avail. To the poster who called these people respectful... I don't think I have heard anything so wrong all year.
Their dedication to playing music at festival volumes is almost to be admired. They must be working in shifts or taking some pretty strong intoxicants to keep the stuff pumping round the clock the way they do.
Perhaps if they had shown even a modicum of respect and consideration they wouldn't be getting chucked out. As things are I cant wait to see the back of them.

Yes, they are still there. Worth emailing the local councillors to see what they can do. James Peters (James.Peters@Hackney.gov.uk), Laura Blunt. Also maybe a message to the De Beauvoir Association (info@debeauvoir.org.uk). I'm going to call that number again as well. What else can do some about them and the anti-social behaviour?

These are all helpful thanks... its getting the point of becoming completely out of hand. I see them wasted in the car park that residents children are around daily. I've even seen a lady pee up against a car there. Real bad stuff.
We have to just keep hassling the council on a daily basis no matter what. I found this twitter account online which has a couple of people in the local area involved in. If you have twitter then please join and just keep hassling. You can @ hackney council and the MET on there.... DO IT
