Park & Litter

Reported via desktop in the Parking signs category anonymously at 11:43, Sunday 11 February 2024

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5560982.

Since the relaxation of resident parking restrictions on this street there are daily car drivers dumping food waste wrappers and bottles/cans into the gutters. How can we get a review/tightening up of resident parking on this street?

  • Thank you for your email regarding the issues you have been facing on the road. Firstly, a review was carried out by Parking Services between July 5, 2021, and August 16, 2021. This public consultation is part of our rolling programme of existing parking zone reviews. As part of the consultation process, residents and businesses were asked for their feedback on their preferred hours of operation for this zone. The council acknowledges that the majority of residents in Bakers Hill supported the retention of longer hours; however, the majority of residents in the northern section of Zone U supported a switch to shorter hours. In order to change the operation hours in your area, the council will need to carry out a full consultation; however, there are no plans to do this in the forseeable future. In order for us to even consider carrying out a consultation in the near future, we will need to receive a petition supporting this with multiple signatures from more than one road, including Leaside Road, Theydon Road, Mount Pleasant, and any others if possible.
