Parking sign says pay by phone but its Ringgo
Reported via desktop in the Parking signs category anonymously at 09:15, Fri 17 June 2022
Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3603297.
I paid for parking 16th June via Paybyphone parking site 79685 for 3 hours costing £11.82. I returned prior to period ending and a traffic warden about to ticket ? I then realised your signage was incorrect and paid a further session on Ringgo.

Thank you for your report. We are in the process of reviewing our signage but are unfortunately bound by rules & regulations limiting what we can and cannot put on a parking sign. The wording "Pay by phone" is the only approved version and cannot be amended to RingGo. This is intended to refer to the method as opposed to the company. Please note that the different apps used to pay for parking should ask you for confirmation of the location, i.e. street name, after you have entered the location code, to help avoid mishaps like this.
