Abandoned property at 112 Stellman Close E5 8QZ

Reported via desktop anonymously at 18:11, Tuesday 14 June 2022

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

Since the Council tenant died last year, the property has remained empty and neglected. Attached photos show the overgrown front garden, with nettles that encroach on our property next door (111) and tree that overshadows no. 113's front garden.

Updates

  • (Updated 23 July 2022) Still no visit from Hackney Council, as far as I know; the property has now been empty for a year. Front garden at the property continues to deteriorate (see pic 1). Garden to rear of the property is also overgrown (see pic 2). Both now need URGENT attention to avoid problems to adjacent properties. There are obvious Dumping/Flytipping/Fire hazard implications, and negative impact on real estate values for nearby homeowners.

  • The clear lack of response from the Council forces me to contact the local councillor, Environmental Health, Fire brigade and Thames Water to mitigate the danger to adjoining buildings.
