Residential road being used for overflow of Lordship Park Road at > 20 mph

Reported via mobile anonymously at 20:30, Wed 8 June 2022

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

The restriction of cars down Church Street has forced most traffic going east/west in Stoke Newington down Lordship Park Road, leading to heavy traffic. People are now aggressively speeding down Allerton Road which is residential and single lane.

Updates

  • Dear Sam Rosenberg,

Thank you for submitting a report regarding traffic movements around Stoke Newington.

Although the Council acknowledges your feedback, the statutory 6-month consultation period for the experimental traffic restriction scheme on Stoke Newington Church Street concluded on the 3rd March 2022, therefore we are unable to consider your feedback as part of the decision-making process. The experimental period for the scheme concludes on the 3rd March 2023.

Despite this, a variety of factors, such as the impact of the restriction on displacing traffic to surrounding roads and, will be considered as part of the review process and will be used to determine whether the scheme will be made permanent or not.

We hope that you find this useful.

    Kind Regards,

    Hackney Streetscene
