Access restriction signs - not visible

Reported via desktop in the Fly-Tipping category by Steve Bagnall at 12:44, Friday 29 April 2022

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

I have just paid a PCN of £65 for turning into this road at 8.07 on Friday 22/4/22. I am not familiar with the area, I was visiting the school on that street for business reasons. By the time you see the restriction signs you are committed to taking the turn! particularly if you are travelling towards the junction with St. Johns Church Road on you left. There is no time to bail out of a commitment to turn left with traffic behind you - you simply cannot see and read any signs in that moment. This is a totally reckless and irresponsible system and is actually dangerous (last second breaking!!). Im all for safety and restricted access for the right reasons, but give law abiding careful drivers a chance!! the signs should be set back down the road, they should be larger to give motorists good opprtunity to see them and take an alternative route. I feel like Ive been mugged on the high street by you!! A 5 year old have done a more pertinent and sensible job!! utter incompetance.
