Vehicle blocking pavement, causing people to walk in the road.

Reported via desktop in the Illegal Parking category anonymously at 14:42, Fri 8 April 2022

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

Hi

I reported this problem, previously.

There is a vehicle that is parked, so that it is blocking the pathway.

This is causing people (inc. the elderly, vulnerable, prams, etc) to have to walk in the road and then back onto the pavement.

As you can appreciate, this is dangerous as they may walk into an oncoming vehicle.

I am perplexed as to why the Council is not taking this matter seriously. Especially, as people may be seriously injured because of the way this person has parked his vehicle.

  • Dear Sir/Madam,

Parking Enforcement attended the location as requested on 08/04/2022, issuing one penalty charge notice to the vehicle in question.

Please note, we take all matters concerning illegal parking very seriously. However, as we are responsible for the entire borough and are managing limited resources, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to enforce every vehicle contravening.

We also rely on members of the public to report illegal parking as this helps inform our enforcement strategy. We kindly encourage you to use our available communication channels. We endeavour to action all requests received as soon as possible.

    Kind regards

    Parking Enforcement
