Bins and recycling bags and food waste boxes on the pavement all week

Reported via desktop in the Highways Obstructions category anonymously at 08:48, Wed 16 March 2022

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3391985.

The east end of Lockhurst Street and to the North and south on Glyn Road is constantly littered with rubbish bins, recycling bags, garden waste bins and food waste bins. There are also electric cables strewn across the pavement to charge parked cars with little or no protection. There is no longer space for an elderly or disabled person or a carer pushing a double buggy or wheelchair along there pavement. This area has become blighted since the new waste bin system was introduced.

  • Despite letters to residents requesting them not to leave their bins and rubbish on the street, the problem persists. It is obstructive, unsightly and arrogant of the offenders to use the pavement as their personal rubbish store. Please enforce your Policy.
