Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later
We had the pavements replaced on Fremont Street over the past few weeks. They have now finished, and whilst the guys doing the work were super helpful and did have a go at sweeping up, we are left with a lot of sand and cement dust in the gutter and on the pavements.
This is now causing a constant problem in terms of being blown into our basement areas. As there is so much debris left in the gutters this problem could go on for years.
As well as that, there is a real risk of a lot of the sand and cement going into the sewer. As we already have twice weekly visits from Thames Water because of a fault to the sewer which means regular blockages, this problem will only make things worse.
Can you arrange for a street sweeper to come down to the street and remove the debris? This should be on a dry day as when it’s damp it will be hard to sweep up. It could also be made worse now as the street is full of cars because the pavements on Warneford Street (adjacent to us)are now being replaced so everyone there is parking here
