Constant noise causing resident's ear pain.

Reported via desktop anonymously at 16:26, Friday 14 January 2022

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

Residents are reporting ear pain, some report a constant high pitched noise, others a low hum, this seem to have started some time around 10/01/2022

We aren't sure where this noise is coming from, some residents think it could be some kind of rodent repellent device.

To me, it sounds like a generator or large server equipment.

Multiple flats within the block have reported the same thing.

Updates

  • The noise persists. It is not only causing ear pain, but also headaches, insomnia and severe stress. Not everyone is able to hear the sound, it could be something like a pest repellent or a teen repellent such as the bizarre Mosquito Device, so it is important that the council visit is properly done with some kind of equipment that can detect these high frequencies. Being a professional sound engineer, I fear that this could cause me permanent ear damage and compromise my ability to work in the future. Please send someone as soon as possible.

  • The noise hasn't stopped. Many neighbours have confirmed they also have ear pain because of it.
