Scooters mounting pavements to evade cameras

Reported via mobile by Simon Hale at 12:59, Sun 2 January 2022

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

Hello We live on lordship road and we are delighted with the recent traffic control measures, including the blocking off of lordship road at lordship terrace/ Edwards lane. The volume of traffic is so much better. However scooters / mopeds are quite regularly mounting the pavement and driving along them- in a bid to avoid the enforcement cameras that take photos of vehicles driving through the closed off road. This is dangerous for pedestrians- I have a 3 year old daughter and a new born and I worry when I approach that section of the road now, especially in the afternoon / Evenigns when it gets dark so early. I worry that there will be an accident. Please could the council consider any action that could be taken to prevent this- eg additional Bollards that block off any route for mopeds etc at the sides of the feature? Thank you for your work in making Hackney safer. We love the new feel in the LTN. Simon Hale 116 lordship road N160qp 07813934919
