DANGER TO PASSERS BY. LETHAL FOR KIDS: long garden wall falling down into street.

Reported via desktop anonymously at 14:51, Mon 18 October 2021

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

Between 28 Finsbury Park Road N4and the corner with Somerfield Road (building 15) N4 there is a long section of garden wall. Two segments of this - which I believe may be owned by 15 Somerfield Road are in serious danger of imminent collapse into the street. The walls are cracked, the mortar is falling out, brickwork is easy to pick up/pull out by hand. You can see that the walls are visually bowing. I asked a bricklayer who was working on a nearby house to have a look and he told me that these pose a clear danger of collapse. If they fell on someone passing by they would be seriously hurt. If they fell on a child, they could be killed. Please can you check this wall, remove it/repair it and bill the necessary person.

This wall clearly hasn't been properly maintained for years, and I believe there was a problem with water undermining parts of the property on Somerfield Road, so this may have contributed.

I would just like to add that I am going to keep an eye on this as I have two small children myself.

Also, I work as a journalists and so do very much hope that Hackney Council will quickly fix this problem that could cause serious injury or - in the worst case scenario - a death, without the need for me to further publics this.

Many Thanks,

Darius Bazargan
