Area of wild flower cut back to ground

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later
Why has this area, beside the footbridge, of wild comfrey and brambles been cut back to the ground? It provided much-needed food and habitat for insects and was not blocking a path so was an unnecessary and destructive thing. to do. I have noticed other areas of wild flowers cut back when they are not causing any issue to access. It also looks very ugly. Hackney Council are supposed to be supportive of encouraging wildlife not destroying it.
Thank you for your email and photos
Firstly, I would like to apologise that you come across this area that has been mowed.
The member of staff was briefed to cut a small mowing strip at the edge of the pathway and clearly went against this brief.
The Head Grounds Person has spoken to the individual involved and has re- set the standards in terms of what we expect in relation to:
- Acceptable mowing practice
And appropriate disciplinary action has been taken which will prevent this from happening again.
Once again please accept my apologies as this area should not have been cut down in that way.
State changed to: Fixed
