Pile of rubbish
Reported via desktop in the Fly-Tipping category by Agnieszka Kowalczyk at 19:42, Fri 7 May 2021
Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2712654.
To whom it may concern, There is a pile of rubbish including a mattress, cardboard boxes, raw meat, broken electronics and bin bags. This is a very prominent area for fly-tippers as we have had this problem for several years. Not only does this cause the area to look unappealing but also attracts several animals such as foxes and rats. There is a sign on a lamppost saying NO DUMPING and that there is cctv in the area but I believe there should be a much bigger sign and maybe a form of fake camera to scare away the fly-tippers. I am also taking the council under consideration as we all pay for weekly rubbish removal so it is not fair if they have to do extra work. As well as this we hope to have a clean and safe neighbourhood. There has already been new trees planted in the area and we have done our part by planting other flowers to liven the place up so we would appreciate if the image of our community was not tarnished by piles of rubbish. Kind regards.

I want to thank the waste disposal officers for the quick response and clean up. Unfortunately the very next day after the rubbish was cleared even more has been dumped. I will attach photos of the new rubbish dump. I have decided to make a decorative bathtub filled with flowers to put in the area as a way to stop the rubbish pileup. Hopefully people can appreciate the colourful flowers and start to take care of our area. What can the council to do mitigate this constant problem?

The rubbish dumping is not stopping. Every single day more and more rubbish is dumped. The rubbish men take it one day and the very next day it piles up again. This is a joke and it is getting ridiculous. The council is not doing a single thing to fix this issue and every one paying the council is paying for a service that does not have to be carried out. Rubbish men have to go out of their way to do the job whilst the council sits back and watches the streets get more and more dirty.
