Recently cars are parking inside this little footpath that connects Bethune to Newnton close. They are blocking 3/4 of the access and they can make it tricky to cross with a pram or bicycle. This looks clearly like a footpath but on close inspection there are not many markings. It is a vital part of the pedestrian route for us in Woodberry down that we have children in Sir Thomas Abney school and not only (given how hostile and dangerous Lordship road narrow pavements are).

Can you please clarify the situation? If it is indeed a footpath, could you please signpost it and maybe put a removable bollard to block private access but allow vehicles that visit wetlands and the estate?

Many thanks

  • Thank you for your report. Parking enforcement has confirmed that it is enforceable as pavement parking and instructions have been sent to the enforcement contractor to visit the location. We will also alert our colleagues in Streetscene regarding putting in some bollards to prevent future issues.
