Double yellow lines wrongly painted
Reported via desktop in the Parking related road markings category anonymously at 18:16, Mon 21 December 2020
Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later
These double yellow lines were there because there used to be a a dropped kerb and access to a garage. This has now been removed and so there is no need for double yellow lines but they are still there years later. The pavement is normal and in front of a pedestrian entrance. There is no reason for these double yellow lines anymore
Thank you for your report. We have been out to investigate the issue and double check that the double yellow are still needed. As well as protecting the access point in the past the lines also provide a passing place on the street. The road is too narrow for continuous 2 way traffic so having a few passing places kept clear is important for road safety. For this reason the double yellow lines need to stay in place. If you have any further issues do not hesitate to report these to us.
