Speed bumps and pot holes make house shake

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 20:12, Sunday 17 May 2020

Sent to Hackney Council less than a minute later

A couple of years ago the council put in some new speed bumps outside our home (Chatsworth road between mildenhall and fletching road), then they changed the road lay out with traffic lights at the end of the road. Now it is like a motor speedway as all vehicles accelerate away from the lights. The 308 Bus (now double decker) and refuse lorries from nearby recycling centre when they hit the speed bumps makes our whole house shake. There is some quite severe cracking appearing which we have never had before. This is worse when there are potholes, like now. They may not look like much but combined with hitting speed bump full tilt they really transmit the vibrations. Any advice on what I can do with council to move speed bumps and perhaps replace with a camera (or nothing as they make no difference anyway). Starts from about 5am it starts and runs throughout the whole day. Thanks
