Tree Preservation Order

Reported in the Trees category anonymously at 11:56, Fri 8 November 2019

Sent to Hackney Council 4 minutes later

Building proposals for the rear land of the garden at 61 Kenninghall Road are planning to remove three large trees situated in the communal garden prior to building commencements in March 2020.

Freeholders representative advised they will not cut them down, however the approved plans show the trees will be removed (plans were refused by the Council and approved only on appeal). The trees are within the boundaries of the communal garden of 61 Kenninghall Road. The leaseholders of 61 Kenninghall Road have not given consent for these trees to be cut down.

This is not an objection to the build, however the trees are an important asset to the enjoyment of the garden and offer essential privacy for all surrounding buildings including Fulke House, Hunsdon House, Devere Court, 59 and 61 Kenninghall Road as well as protecting flats from light bleed from surrounding buildings.

The trees concerned are documented via the photos attached. T4 is the 10m high, semi-mature Leyland Cypress in good condition on the left. T5 is the 6.5m high, semi-mature Cherry tree in good condition in the middle. T6 is the 7.5m False Acacia in good condition on the right.
