The concrete infill between this telecoms inspection cover and the paving blocks next to the kerbstones of the corner of Ormsby Street and Dunloe Street has suffered damage from vehicle overrun, opening up a rather deep hole.

It's a bit of a trip hazard already, and will continue to deteriorate if not attended to.

Pity we can't have a bell bollard there to prevent overrun, but of course that's not possible unless the awkwardly located and vulnerable inspection chamber can be moved.

  • I got a swift and helpful reply from Hackney council's surveyor saying that the location had been barriered to make it safe and a section 81 notice had been sent to BT.

The other day I saw repair work being carried out.

Thanks to all concerned (apart from the drivers who caused the damage!).

    State changed to: Fixed
