Pink plastic bags are being left outside offices all weekend and most weekdays. Some contain food waste and almost every night the bags are ripped open by foxes who scatter the debris. The street cleaner does a really good job but there is no way to deal with this daily littering. The problem is spreading as the building sites are have constant delivery vehicles and casual littering has increased.
The problem has been food waste and food packaging disposed of in the pink bags. As soon as these are collected another pile appears, and on Friday evenings the bags are usually put outside by the cleaners, and therefore on the street all weekend. By Monday the contents are often scattered. The street sweeper does his best to clean it up and says he has often reported the problem of the pink bags system.. The solution is a strict food waste separation, with a compost food waste collection as for residences. Also offices need instruction that bags should only be put out the evening before, or morning of, collection.
