LOUD newly installed MAN HOLE
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 08:49, Fri 25 August 2017
Sent to Hackney Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1096304.
The man hole, has been newly replaced a couple of weeks ago, as part of some road works along Rectory Road. It is roughly in the middle of the a10 road stretch between Linden Children centre and n. 59/61 Rectory Road. It has already gone loose after a couple of days and makes a louse tedious noise everytime a car, let alone a truck runs over it. It makes it really hard to sleep at night, especially when big trucks speed by it.

I have been told that since Rectory Road is Red Route, unfortunately the Council has no power or say over it, as it is responsibility and managed by TFL.
After getting in touch with TFL on the 31/09, I have been told by their officers that the ManHole is owned by a Private company ( Thames Water) so they are unable to guarantee a timing for fixing the problem.

I have been in touch with TFL various times, who forwarded the problem to Thames Water, but apparently they don't need to give a timeframe for fixing the problem. Nothing has been done and it has been 2 months.

TFL is not longer responding so I got in touch with Thames Water. They keep postponing the date of the fixing. We have mentioned the noise cause us to wakeup at night. The last time we were in touch, we have been told it should be fixed by 29/11.

Thames Water and TFL keep blaming each other for the delays. We have yet no commitments to this being fixed, which it's really frustrating.

This is becoming increasingly stressful as both TFL and Thames Water point at each other for blaming delays in booking the repair. The Council declines responsibility - since - despite being a residential road - with no shops - Rectory Rd is A10, therefore under TFL administration. The loud noise has been disrupted our time in the flat and our sleep at night - since August 2017.
