There is a raised table in front of the station but surely this must have a zebra crossing.

  • Response from the Council: 1. Zebra crossing missing - There is a raised table in front of the station but surely this must have a zebra crossing. We have checked the accident records for Lee Street in the area of Haggerston Station and also carried out a site visit. Fortunately there is not an accident problem there, however this does mean that the site is not a priority one for a scheme such as a new crossing, as locations with an existing accident record have to be prioritised first. Having said that, the request has been added to our list of requests and it may be that we can do an improvement scheme there at some time in the future, when resources allow. This seems the same attitude that allowed the Grenfell disaster: people have to die before they do something.
