Broken Traffic Island Beacons Reported anonymously at 00:08, Fri 6 January 2012 There are two broken illuminated traffic island beacons on 174 Stoke Newington Road, London N16 7UY. The beacons are completely broken off leaving two sharp jagged metal slabs in the traffic island. Myself and the driver behind me drove over this at approximately 9.15pm on 05/01/12 and it left me with two punctured blown out tyres on the driver side, alloy buckle and dents as well as suspected axle and suspension damage. The damaged traffic island is difficult to spot on the road at night (as I was)when driving at 30mph due to the missing illuminated beacons. I'll be reporting this to Hackney Council as soon as their offices open tomorrow so that it hopefully doesn't pose any more damage to anyone else.
